ACME started doing business in Los Angeles, California in 1985. Today we have five branches located in New York City, New Jersey, Atlanta, Miami, and Arizona. From the beginning we have set out to provide our customers with service, value and quality.
In our new 400,000 square foot fully racked warehouse in Los Angeles, we can ship out most orders within 48 hours. In most instances we can ship 90% of the items requested. This is possible due to the fact that we maintain a 12 million dollar inventory at all times. We also offer our customers a traffic department that offers the most competitive freight rates available.
Over the years ACME has been working with many of the same factories in Malaysia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Brazil and of course China. Because of our long-term relationships with these factories, we have been able to purchase our products at the most competitive prices in the industry. We are proud to say that in most cases, ACME will be able to beat our competitors´ prices.
Nothing is more important than quality. That is why ACME maintains its own quality control personnel in every country in which we do business. Every item must meet our exact standards. Nothing less will do.

West Bros Furniture

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

The West Bros. tradition has always been to bring each unique design into a solid 3-dimensional reality - consistently producing one of the highest quality products in the world. We believe that by educating consumers about distinct characteristics of solid hardwood the better they will appreciate and enjoy the unmistakable warmth and distinction that it brings to their décor.
Unlike non-living material such as steel or plastic, our hardwoods –such as cherry, ash and maple are very much alive when they arrive at the West Bros. factory. Every piece of wood tells us its life story through its grain. Changes in climate, or exposure to water, animals & weather creates a uniqueness and character in each piece. The selection process begins early and continues throughout the manufacturing process. Our skilled craftsmen carefully match the wood for the colour, pattern and variation that will become the finished piece and bear the renowned West Bros.’ name. One of the natural features of owning solid wood furniture is the appreciation that all wood changes and develops grain colour over a period of time. As the years pass, your appreciation for solid wood furniture will grow as each piece continues to tell a story about its life - always maintaining its strength and beauty. When our customers invest in West Bros. furniture, they are investing in quality, meticulous craftsmanship and unmistakable beauty for generations.
Each type of wood has its own inherent characteristics which are strongly affected by various factors such as temperature and humidity changes. From the raw wood state, as much as one-third of the total lumber weight is moisture. That is why it takes great skill and expertise during the curing process to ensure the very best final product. If extra time is not taken when the wood first arrives to control moisture levels the wood may shrink, expand, split or even change shape. In fact, these effects occur in many unpredictable directions to various degrees depending on where each piece of wood was cut from the tree, requiring careful consideration before each piece enters production. Fortunately, our commitment to quality and consistency stands firm from the outset of the manufacturing process. We continue lead the industry by taking the extra strides necessary in reducing the problems which can occur when working with solid wood. This commitment to quality and dedication to our craft is another reason why West Bros. is one of the finest furniture makers, and why our products are renowned around the world.

Whitewood Industries

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

Whitewood Industries, Inc. was founded in 1982 in Greensboro, NC as a distributor of ready-to-finish furniture to retail stores throughout the eastern United States. Initially, Whitewood moved to a 9,000-sq.-ft warehouse in Jamestown, NC and added finished juvenile furniture to its product mix while continuing to distribute ready-to-finish furniture. In 1987 the company began an import division, expanding its capabilities as a complete offshore resource. That same year, Whitewood moved from Jamestown to High Point, NC and leased a new 24,000-sq.-ft facility, and business continued to grow. In 1990, Whitewood’s owners purchased a building in Thomasville, NC which allowed the company to triple its warehouse space. With this large warehousing facility, Whitewood began sourcing finished furniture and opening new retail markets. In mid-1994, Whitewood again expanded its facilities, which brought total manufacturing, office and warehouse space to more than 200,000 square feet. The year 2000 saw an exciting benchmark for Whitewood: The company recruited a talented team and engaged well-known furniture designer Carol Wheeless to develop Whitewood’s own, finished furniture brand. Called “John Thomas Furniture,” the mid-priced, design-oriented line features full-sized dining groups that are casual enough for everyday meals but handsome enough for special occasions too. In April, 2001, the company moved from its original High Point showroom to a new, 10,000-sq.-ft showroom at 215 S. Main St., High Point. The year 2005 marked, yet another, benchmark for Whitewood: The company launched a new division/brand, Whitewood Masterfinish. Whitewood Masterfinish, a thirty-five color choice, paint/stain gel product, offers ready-to finish and specialty retailers the opportunity to marry ready-to-finish furniture with a “same brand” finishing product. Today, Whitewood Industries Inc. divisions include, Whitewood Ready-To-Finish, Whitewood Masterfinish, John Thomas Furniture, and International Concepts. Whitewood Industries’ employs 150 Thomasville, NC residents with manufacturing, warehousing, corporate offices, and showroom facilities, incorporated, reaching 350,000 square feet.
